MISSIONS - Arizona
In August 2005, SOPC undertook its first youth mission trip in several years, supported by the Mission Commission and various fundraisers. A group of at least six youth and adults went to the Apache reservation in northeastern Arizona located in the beautiful White Mountains. We spent the week with other youth groups from around the country participating in various mission activities organized by YouthWorks, an ecumenical organization dedicated to providing a well-organized and relation-focused mission experience for junior high and high schoolers. Our days were filled with worship and walking with Christ as we helped to lead “Kids’ Club” and painted houses for community residents. We were housed and fed at a local church in White River, AZ.
